Men’s Voice – a Debate

Men’s Voice — the debate on the role of men in shaping social and parenting attitudes held on 2.12.2022 involved many important issues and posed pertinent questions for the participants to discuss. Boy’s education regarding the recognition of their drivers, experiences, beliefs, and stereotypes affecting attitudes and prevention of violence, including gender-related abuse. Why do we need this type of education? Can educating boys help reduce family violence? What is the role of the man in shaping social and parenting attitudes? Are men the only perpetrators of family violence? Are interventions against perpetrators an effective way to prevent family violence? The debate brought together experts and guests. Even though it lasted five hours, the debate was far from exhausting the subject. We hope it was only a first of many meetings to emphasize the role of men in violence prevention, discuss parent attitudes and efforts directed at perpetrators, and examine whether only men are perpetrators. We appreciate the contributions of all participants and see you at future debates.
